Earlier this year, Hudsyn was selected to be a 2021 Ambassador for Children’s Mercy during their Dream Big Day campaign. This meant she received a dedicated photoshoot, interview and became featured in the fundraiser’s marketing all over the city and online!
Dream Big Day is a family-friendly walk, festival and celebration to rally our community around Children’s Mercy and raise funds to provide answers, hope and care to patients and families. Hudsyn chose to raise funds specifically for the Beacon Clinic which is her primary care and medical home within Children’s Mercy. The Beacon Clinic provides care for medically complex or fragile kiddos (and their siblings). They have been a lifeline for us on many occassions, making sometimes stressful situations with Hudsyn’s care a whole lot easier.
During her photoshoot, Hudsyn was asked, “What do YOU dream big for?” Her response: Everyday Princesses, of course! We have been on this journey for over a decade . As her parents, we have faced a barrage of questions, complications, and stress. However, Hudsyn has also been a huge source of perspective, gratitude and faith. That’s why we continue to smile, and remember how far we’ve come with Children’s Mercy’s support.
Where we used to have pity and sympathy for those battling complex medical needs, we now only see hope and love because of what Hudsyn has taught us. Although she requires more care, time and attention than other kids, she creates an amazing sense of awareness around exactly what we should all be grateful for each day. Every child deserves a chance at a full, high quality life. Even kids like Hudsyn, who can’t walk or talk, possess an innate ability to attract amazing people around them. She helps you see what true personal strength really is. And, she awakens our understanding by helping everyone around her become empathetically aware of those with disabilities.
We’re doing a few things to help Hudsyn achieve her Dream Big Day goal of $5,000 for the Beacon Clinic and we invite you to participate however you’d like:
- Hudsyn is hosting a virtual Thirty-One party on Facebook, Friday, July 23 at 8:00pm CST. I’m sure she will make an appearance that evening via Facebook Live! Click here to join the private Facebook group, or begin shopping online now. 100% of commissions and proceeds will go toward her goal and you get amazing bags or home organization products in exchange!
- Support our team financially by making a tax-deductible contribution to Hudsyn’s Dream Big Day Team! Last year we raised $12,111.05 for Children’s Mercy and we hope to go well beyond that this year.
- Purchase a Hopester shirt. From now until the end of September, we will donate all proceeds from our merchandise store to Hudsyn’s Dream Big Day. We’ll be wearing ours during the festival. Join us by wearing your Hopester shirt in person (or virtually) Saturday, September 25!
